I know alternative movie posters have been done to death but, I thought I'd still throw my cap in the ring. Why? Why not.You can say, oh that's a neat idea and do nothing yourself or you can get off your arse and join in. I decided to fight procrastination, get off my arse and do a few alternative posters myself.Believe me, my friends, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in Photoshop.
Five alternative and minimal movie poster designs
The film posters that I have re-worked are true modern classics. In no particular order they are
- The Big Lebowski
- The Matrix
- Trainspotting
- Blade Runner
- Reservoir Dogs
The Big Lebowski movie poster design
I was going to have a speech bubble saying "shut the fuck up donnie!" but I removed it at the last minute and put in the rug.You can tell its a rug right? This got me trying white russians, nice, real smooth (shut the fuck up simon).
The Matrix design
Drew the hands very rough to give it a Hitchcock feel, should have done the same for the pills in the hands. I still love this film, even after all the shit remakes. There I said it, the other matrix films, well they are not a patch on the original. It's the not knowing, what's going to happen? what's it all about? Once you know, well, the rabbit is out of the hat and you can't put it back.So no more matrix films please, it's done. It's finished.
Trainspotting design
Trainspotting, I read the book before, way before I saw the film. Irvine Welsh, one of my all time favorite authors.Trainspotting one of those books you just can't put down, and it's better than the film (shut the fuck up...). The film is very good, Danny Boyle did a superb job - and the soundtrack is amazing. In this poster design the needles are trains (as in trainspotting) on train tracks and you are watching them through bi nock you lars!
