Hello! I’m Simon, an artist from Teddington, England. I specialise in creating custom dog portraits that don’t just capture a likeness, but the true spirit of your dog. By blending classic techniques with modern digital tools, I craft unique portraits that reflect your pet's personality in a way you won’t find anywhere else.
I capture your dog's true personality with minimal background, focusing on their unique expression. I begin digitally, then bring depth and texture using materials like acrylics, oils, and pastels.
The result? A one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted portrait that fuses classic artistry with a modern twist, showcasing your dog’s spirit like never before.
How it works
Creating your custom dog portrait is simple. Here’s my process.
- Choose your canvas size: Select the size that best fits your space and preference.
- Upload your favourite dog photo: Submit a high-quality image of your dog.
- Describe your dog: Describe your dog’s character, think about what makes them tick. Are they always up for a game, super affectionate, or maybe a bit cheeky? Are they chill and laid-back, or full of energy? Do they have any quirky habits or unique expressions that show off their personality? The more you can share about what makes your dog them, the better I can capture their true spirit in the portrait!
- Personalised review: I’ll review your photo to ensure it’s ideal for a dog portrait.
- Creation: I paint your dog portrait digitally, print it, and add real hand-painted elements.
- Shipping: The finished dog portrait will be shipped to you via Royal mail 48hr Tracked.
How long does a portrait take?
Your portrait will typically be ready within seven working days, but during busy periods, it may take a bit longer. Once complete, I'll send it straight to you via Royal Mail 48 Tracked, ensuring secure and reliable delivery.
Do you have any tips for taking a suitable dog picture?
- Get on Their Level: Position yourself at your dog's eye level to capture their true expression and personality.
- Use Natural Light: Soft, natural light (like early morning or late afternoon) reduces harsh shadows and makes colors pop. Avoid flash, as it can startle your dog and create unflattering effects.
- Focus on the Eyes: The eyes tell the story! Make sure they're sharp and in focus, as they’re the most expressive part of a pet portrait.
- Capture Their Personality: If your dog loves to play, catch them mid-action; if they’re more laid-back, a calm sitting pose might be best. Use treats or toys to capture their attention or encourage certain expressions.
- Background Matters: Choose a simple, clean background that keeps the focus on your dog, like a park, open field, or uncluttered room.
- Patience and Timing: Dogs have their own pace, so be patient and take multiple shots. The best expressions often happen in the moments between commands.
With these tips, you’ll get a portrait that really captures your dog’s unique spirit!
