A font no other brand can use.

Most brands borrow a voice. I design one they can own—custom typefaces with character built in.

I create bespoke typefaces, custom lettering and modified fonts for brands, agencies and creative teams that want to look unmistakably themselves.

More than a logo

A custom font gives your brand a consistent voice wherever it appears.

Across campaigns, packaging, social media, websites, broadcast graphics and everything in between, your typography becomes instantly recognisable—and completely yours.

What I can create

Bespoke typeface design—A completely original font designed around your brand, audience and personality.

From a distinctive display face to a broader working family, every character is created with a clear purpose.

Font modification

Already found something close?

I can adapt an existing typeface with custom characters, alternate letters, ligatures and other details that make it feel more ownable.

Custom lettering

For campaigns, packaging, titles, logos and one-off messages that need something more distinctive than an off-the-shelf font.

Handmade character. Professional performance.

My work often begins with ink, paint, print, cut paper or imperfect lettering.

That handmade quality is then developed into a practical digital typeface, complete with the characters, alternates and technical details your team needs.

The result feels human without being difficult to use.

Built for real-world use

Depending on the project, your custom font can include:

  • Uppercase and lowercase characters
  • Numerals and punctuation
  • Alternate letters
  • Ligatures
  • Symbols and brand-specific glyphs
  • Multiple weights or styles
  • Extended European language support
  • Desktop and webfont formats
  • Usage guidance for internal teams and agencies

How it works

1. The brief

We establish what the font needs to say, where it will be used and what it must never look like.

2. The direction

I develop initial concepts and character studies, exploring the shape, rhythm and personality of the typeface.

3. The design

The chosen direction becomes a complete, working font. Characters are drawn, tested and refined across real words and brand applications.

4. The delivery

You receive the agreed font files, licence and supporting material, ready for your team to use.

Experience that goes beyond type

I’ve spent more than twenty years working across design, advertising, entertainment and visual culture.

My custom typography and artwork have been created for brands and organisations including Reebok, ITV, Three, King and NEX Playground.

That means I understand that a beautiful alphabet is only half the job.

It also has to work.

Why commission a custom font?

Because consistency is useful.

Recognition is valuable.

And looking exactly like your competitors is a terrible brand strategy.

A bespoke typeface gives you an ownable visual asset that can work across campaigns, platforms and markets for years.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a custom font take?

Timings depend on the number of characters, styles, language requirements and how the font will be used. A focused display typeface may take several weeks, while a larger family requires a longer development period.

How much does custom font design cost?

Every project is different. Costs depend on scope, character set, number of styles, technical requirements and licensing. Once I understand the brief, I’ll provide a clear proposal.

Can you modify an existing font?

Yes, provided the original font licence allows modification. This can be a more efficient option when an existing typeface is close but needs distinctive brand characters or a more individual voice.

Can you create webfonts?

Yes. Desktop, web and other required formats can be included in the project scope.

Can the font support multiple languages?

Yes. Western European and broader language support can be developed where required.

Who owns the finished font?

Ownership and usage rights are agreed clearly before the project begins. Depending on the brief, the font can be licensed exclusively to your organisation.
