Most fonts imitate paint. Fierce Font is paint.
Every character began with acrylic applied to transparent film by hand. The marks were photographed, brought into Photoshop and converted into a full-colour OpenType SVG display typeface.
The scratches are real.
The dirt is real.
The attitude didn’t need adding afterwards.
A hand-painted font that keeps the paint
Traditional fonts turn every letter into a clean vector shape. That is useful when you want perfect edges.
Fierce Font was made for everything that happens before perfection gets involved.
OpenType SVG technology allows each character to retain the subtle shades, transparency, grime and irregular edges found in the original acrylic artwork. Instead of reducing the painting to a flat black outline, the font preserves the detail that gives it energy.
It looks handmade because it is handmade.
There is a difference.
Why Fierce Font was painted on clear film
Painting the characters on transparent film meant I could keep the natural edges of every brush mark without bringing a paper background into the finished font.
I photographed the artwork rather than scanning it, capturing the variations in paint, pressure and texture. Each image was then cleaned up just enough to work as a typeface without removing the evidence of how it was made.
Clean enough to use.
Dirty enough to matter.
Full colour with built-in transparency
Fierce Font contains transparency within the glyphs, making it possible to place the letters over photographs, textures and coloured backgrounds.
In Photoshop, a colour overlay can be added to change the appearance of individual letters while retaining the original painted detail. This gives you more control without making you rebuild the effect from scratch.
The package also includes a high-resolution Photoshop file containing the glyph artwork.
Because sometimes a font is enough.
And sometimes you want to get your hands properly dirty.
Where to use Fierce Font
Fierce is a bold unicase display font containing uppercase letterforms. It works best when your design needs visible texture and immediate impact:
- Posters and campaign artwork
- Album covers and music graphics
- Editorial headlines
- Packaging and product labels
- Fashion and merchandise
- Social-media graphics
- Film and television titles
- Bold branding and advertising
This is not a font for disappearing quietly into the layout.
Fierce is the layout.
What is included with Fierce Font?
The full-colour Fierce SVG font includes uppercase A–Z, numbers, punctuation, symbols and marks. Due to the file size created by its detailed image-based characters, the SVG version supports Basic Latin A–Z.
A standard font version is also included with support for Western, Central and Southeastern European characters. This gives you a more conventional option when broader language support or standard font compatibility is required.
You get the painted character of the original.
And a practical version for everything else.
Typography should leave a mark
There are plenty of perfectly polished fonts.
Fierce Font was created for designers who want to see the hand, the brush and the accident. It keeps the imperfections that ordinary font production usually removes.
Because the interesting part of paint is not where it behaves.
It is where it doesn’t.
