Gilly handmade script font created in Procreate

Gilly font a handmade script created on ipad with procreate

I'm calling this new script font Gilly. Got the name from the David Bowie song Spiders from Mars. The lyric "Ziggy played guitar, jamming good with Weird and Gilly." That song was stuck in my head like the proverbial earworm. I thought "Weird and Gilly" would be an awesome name. Later I thought it was too long, and people just might not get it. I asked, and people didn't get it—but they liked Gilly—job done. Font Creation on the iPad I created the initial design on my iPad pro using Procreate. Love that application to bits, love the Apple pencil—lots...

Roadhouse Blues handmade cursive typeface

Roadhouse Blues font a handmade cursive typeface

Roadhouse Blues was inspired in part by my own hand lettering experiments and the awesome work I'm seeing by people who I follow on Instagram. I love handmade lettering—I'm an addict. I swear this will be the last script font I do for a while. It's been a real slog to finish this font. Not the drawing of the letters but just putting it all together, technical problems and kerning. I don't mind admitting it was a struggle. The perfect brush font I'm still on a mission to create the perfect random-looking brush...

Little Wonder hand-painted brush script typeface

Little wonder font a handpainted brush script typeface

Little Wonder is distinct hand painted typeface. Made with a single watercolour brush and painstakingly digitised into a font. When inspiration hits you, you've got to run with it. With Little Wonder I had this idea of a fat v thin brush stroke. Creating the different letters took me about 3 hrs. I worked really quickly just creating lots and lots of letters. I ended up with over 60 sheets of paper full of different watercolour marks. I was really excited to see what it would look like, so got to work converting it. I wish I could just snap...
