About Pumped Up Kicks

Pumped Up Kicks is a bold, playful sans-serif typeface brimming with energy and an upbeat spirit. With its crisp, large, and delightfully wobbly lines, Pumped Up Kicks brings a charm that’s uniquely its own. Its unconventional design ensures it stands out, with some glyphs dipping below the baseline and others floating just above it—injecting your designs with personality and a sense of playfulness.

Pumped Up Kicks is an uppercase-only font designed entirely with capital letters. However, the lowercase characters feature alternate uppercase glyphs, offering added variety and visual interest.

The font is named after Foster the People's 2010 song, which is known for its contrasting elements—an infectious, cheerful melody paired with dark and unsettling lyrics.

Stylistic Alternatives

The font includes alternate glyphs for A–Z, allowing your typography to stand out with distinctive flair. For example, if a word contains two letter A’s, you can replace one with an alternate version to create a less repetitive and more unique look.

Most letters offer at least three stylistic alternate versions, with some featuring up to seven variations.

Ligatures

The font also includes a variety of ligatures, allowing certain letter combinations to be automatically replaced with unique, custom letter combinations (e.g., “LO” or “RA”). Please note: you will need to type in uppercase for the ligature to be automatically replaced.

The ligature combinations give your design a handcrafted look and feel, allowing you to create something truly unique that captures attention.

You can unlock the alternatives and ligatures using OpenType in your design application.
