About Teardrop

Teardrop font is a meticulously hand-drawn ink typeface featuring contextual alternatives. It is entirely crafted by hand.

My objective was to design a font that mimicked the effect of teardrops hitting ink, giving rise to drips and splashes.

Certain inks are designed to disperse and expand upon contact with water, producing a gentle and diffused look. Replicating this effect in a font is exceptionally challenging, but I was determined to try it.

Teardrop Font

Teardrop is imperfect, distressed, and like that gentle rain on a quiet afternoon – soft, soothing, and full of emotion.

Whether crafting heartfelt wedding invitations, elegant poetry, or simply wanting to add emotion to your designs, Teardrop font is your go-to.

Teardrop Font Name

I stole the name from the Massive Attack song Teardrop, but they brought in Elizabeth Fraser from the Scottish band Cocteau Twins to sprinkle some lyrical magic. The song's got this otherworldly vibe that's, well, ethereal and haunting.

Now, as for the lyrics, think of it as a deep dive into the human experience. It's like a soul-searching journey where you ponder life's fragility and the weight of loss.

The emotional depth and musical charm? Off the charts. If you ever get the chance, see the band live, see them live, see them live.

If Teardrop Were a Celebrity

If the font Teardrop were a celebrity, it would be the soulful and emotionally expressive Adele. Just as Adele's music is renowned for its heartfelt lyrics and stirring melodies, Teardrop font carries an air of emotional depth and sensitivity in the world of typography.
