Behind the type — Typography

Little Wonder is distinct hand painted typeface. Made with a single watercolour brush and painstakingly digitised into a font. When inspiration hits you, you've got to run with it. With Little Wonder I had this idea of a fat v thin brush stroke. Creating the different letters took me about 3 hrs. I worked really quickly just creating lots and lots of letters. Introducing Mister Rooster font, I've changed the name to Miss Rooster (don't ask). It's been a while since I last did a script font, and I swore I wouldn't do another one for a while—I kept my word. I've been concentrating on photography packs and have another one in the works but wanted to finish Mister Rooster first. Bangers and Mash font, my follow-up from a font I designed called Buckley. Bangers and Mash is a hand-lettered typeface, with a playful old school vibe. This seems to be my style at the moment, I'm obsessed with anything hand-made. I get totally inspired by a love of craft and using real materials—even if the craft is just doodling and messing around. I really like the imperfect characteristics of ink on paper.
