Behind the type

Not my type isn't my first typewriter font. I have done one before called Type old writer. So why do another? Well, the answer is simple, I bought an old typewriter for a photo shoot for my picture frame studio pack. Take me to the river is what I'm calling my new brush script font. The name is taken from a song by Al Green, but I've only ever known the Talking Heads version—and I love it to bits. The Atomic Dustbin font was handmade with a watercolour brush, black ink, and paper. I was trying to get that dry brushmark, with all the lovely detail that can produce. Introducing Munky font, a big plate full of a slab serif. Now to be totally honest I'm not sure about the name. It's been bugging me. I was planning on calling it Heffalump because it's such a big lummox of a font. I thought that was a perfect name and I'd nailed it. Little Wonder is distinct hand painted typeface. Made with a single watercolour brush and painstakingly digitised into a font. When inspiration hits you, you've got to run with it. With Little Wonder I had this idea of a fat v thin brush stroke. Creating the different letters took me about 3 hrs. I worked really quickly just creating lots and lots of letters. Bangers and Mash font, my follow-up from a font I designed called Buckley. Bangers and Mash is a hand-lettered typeface, with a playful old school vibe.
